- Bootstrap for Web Design
- 1.1 Introduction
I'm Adi Purdila. I'm a web designer and for me, time is really important, it's the most precious resource. So, I'm always searching for new methods to increase my productivity and make good use of the time I have.
One of the methods I'm talking about is represented by frameworks. These are libraries which usually contain predefined styles and plugins and they can really help you build a website faster because you don't have to spend a bunch of time coding something from the ground up. They set a foundation on which you can build really fast.
Probably the most popular framework these days is Twitter Bootstrap - and for good reason. It offers some great stuff, like a responsive grid system, CSS styles for a bunch of elements and more than a dozen components like sliders, accordions, tabs, modal windows… you name it. It gives you everything you need to build websites, web applications or even working prototypes.
And this is what we'll do in this course. We'll have a closer look at Bootstrap and analyse its components, its CSS and figure out how it can help us develop a website. We'll also have an exercise to see how we can apply those components to a real-world project.
So let's not waste any more time and start with lesson number 1 where we'll do an overview of Bootstrap and see how we can install it.
I'm your teacher Adi Purdila and this is "Bootstrap for Web Design".
